Sneek-peek at the new-look Envisage

03.25.10 Posted in Branding, envisage design by

Exciting things are brewing in the studio here in Nelson.

My design studio (Envisage) has a self-rebranding project underway. This has been a major task and one that is long overdue. This is a major project and encompasses everything about the Envisage service offering; what it is exactly, and how it is percieved.

It’s been a great ride so far, and I have met some very talented people and suppliers along the way. More on this later.

In the meantime, take a sneek-peek at just some of my swanky newly designed stationery above. Feedback please!

New toys in the studio

03.22.10 Posted in simon owen by

Xmas has arrived super early here in the Envisage Design studio. Specifically in the shape of a sparky brand new 27-inch iMac.

I’m crunching some pretty big data these days, and often multi-tasking between a number applications. My 5 year old intel iMac has been feeling the strain, and if there is one thing I definatly do not like it’s putting the creative flow on hold while my machine struggles to keep up with me. Rest assured, I’ll be working this new hardware to the bone.

I have been using Apple computers since I was 15 years old. I love them, and after 25 years of using them, I hope they feel the same way about me. Envisage certainly has produced a ton of work on the Mac platform!

The design of these new Macs are outstanding. Touch sensitive mouse, wireless mini keyboard and a massive 27 inch super high resolution LED display. I can’t wait to put it to the test.

Let’s play!

New Life in the Lister Building

02.15.10 Posted in Uncategorized by

Back in 1998, I purchased a suite of offices in the central Auckland business district. My design business (incorporated 1994) was, by then, well-established in the professional services sector and I wanted a permanent custom studio in order to continue working from.

The suite is located in the Lister Building. This historic building is located on the corner of Lorne and Victoria Street east, directly opposite Auckland’s fashion mile; High Street. The intersection (only 5m from the main entrance) is said to be the busiest for pedestrian numbers in New Zealand.
